Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her stage moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first album she released on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 following the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang together with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then, in November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. They then teamed up as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single in February 2019 for her debut album of the same name. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in the first week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
